Derived from one set of data is an insight into the music preferences of listeners aged 18-24. This data was gathered between 2018 and 2024 and represents the listening habits, favorite music, and demographic identities of thousands of individuals worldwide.

Often, the nationality of a listener's top artist was different than the listener's nationality. Through music, cultures cross over, despite the geographic distance.
Surveyed listeners, like #1898 in the data, show that young adults often favor artists whose origin –and even musical style– is geographically foreign. Based on an analysis that accounted for the uneven representation of countries within the data, South Korean pop band BTS had more foreign listeners than South Korean ones.
